Background Information on Laurie Pearson

My name is Laurie Pearson, owner of Pearson's Pagoda located in Phillipston, Massachusetts.  Not too long ago, after years of yearning to venture into my own jewelry design business I sat down and began to create!

Ever since high school I have been involved in different areas of art.  In 1977 I was selected out of many entries to represent the town of Lunenburg by gracing the town's report cover with a pen and ink drawing of a wild turkey which represented the Town's symbol, "Turkey Hills".  Later on I entered the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards where I was presented with gold key and blue ribbon awards for the painting I did of Lake Monomonac located in Ashburnham, MA.  After graduating from Lunenburg high school I attended Mount Wachusett Community College and received my associates degree in Fine Art.

Since high school I have been maried to my high school sweetheart, Matt Pearson, and have raised three children, Matt Jr., Peter, and John.  During the years of raising a family I worked part-time in sales within the jewelry business, at Belden Jewelers, and in the fine jewelry department of Service Merchandise.  While there, I sucessfully earned my certificate as a certified Diamontologist.

Later on, after working as an office administrator, I felt it was time to move on and start my  own business doing what I was most passionate about, the making of jewelry.  I chose beaded jewelry because of its wide range of design potential.  I love using materials such as shell, Swarvorski crystals, glass, semi precious gemstones, pearls, stone, wood and various metals to create original, limited edition "works of art".

I have held several home parties and found that this is a great opportunity for not only me, but the host.  Home parties allow the host to generate credit toward the purchase of my quality designer jewelry by inviting friends and relatives to purchase jewelry withing the surroundings of their own home.  I also teach beaded jewelry classes at the studio in my home on beautiful Queen Lake.

I have had the opportunity to custom design pieces to match people's wardrobes, and recently completed jewelry for a bridal party.  The bride and mother of the bride were able to select their dresses and then coordinate with me to design the perfect complementary pieces, which included necklaces, earrings and bracelets. I am currently the Preferred Jewelry Wedding Specialist for the Wachusett Village Inn located in Westminster, MA.

In September 2009, I had the opportunity to conduct a jewelry making workshop at the Balsam's Grand Resort in Dixville Notch, NH to twenty women. It was very rewarding for me to see the pride on everyone's faces as they finished their creations!

I'd like to thank my customers both old and new, for all your support.  It's been a pleasure working with you and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

I hope you find my web-site useful and if you have a desire for custom handmade jewelry, made by an artisan at affordable prices, please contact me and we can work together to design the personalized jewelry you fantasize about!
